November 2011

Plans for upcoming Suzuki concept cars have been announced, ahead of the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show in late November.
One potential idea to be displayed at the motor show is the Suzuki Swift EV Hybrid, featuring an electric motor which provides a range of up to 30km in full EV model, only calling upon the petrol motor for extended trips.
According to Suzuki, this range-extending technology was chosen over a full EV arrangement due to the ability to reduce the weight and cost of the car.
Looking to the future, the Japanese manufacturer has also outlined the Suzuki Q-concept - aimed at those travelling around 10 kilometres a day.
Described as a cross between a motorcycle and a car, the circular frame features two tandem seats and an overall length of just 2.5 metres.
The Suzuki Regina is also due to attract audience attention, showcasing the marque's vision for a fuel-efficient compact car.
The aerodynamic body and lightweight construction draws similarities to the Suzuki Alto, and sees the car achieving an official fuel consumption rating of 3.1 litres per 100 kilometres.
Currently, the Australian-delivered Suzuki Alto returns a fuel consumption rating of 4.7 litres per 100 kilometres.
